Sunhaven Childminding is set in a separate annex on my property. The nursery is bright and spacious with plenty of natural light. It has a fully fitted kitchen and toilet room, with heating and air conditioning, and a purpose-built garden for the children.
The Annex has been completely renovated and redecorated specifically for Sunhaven Childminding to make it a safe, inviting and fun space for children to play and learn in. The kitchen is stocked with resources for craft activities and messy play.
When it is time for those much needed sleep times, a corner of the playroom is turned into a comfortable sleeping area, with lullaby music and travel cots and cushions.
The walls of the playroom are lined with units packed with toys for all ages-from Duplo to Barbies, puzzles to train tracks, Beanie Babies to action figures.
The home corner allows the children to act out their own experiences, dress up as their favourite characters and go where their imagination takes them.
The book corner is cosy communication friendly space, for reading, puzzles and treasure baskets.
There is always something to do and play with at Sunhaven!
The garden is undergoing a huge transformation! Once a meadow full of mossy, uneven grass, it is soon to be a beautiful green area, with space for flowerbeds and vegetable patches. The nursery has it's own separate garden, specifically for the children to use. There will be opportunities for the Sunhaven children to plant their own flowers and produce, hunt for mini beasts and play in sand and water trays. Dinosaur Land and a Construction Site are in the works, along with a sand pit and fairy garden. In the summer months, the patio is a beautiful sun trap, but there is always plenty of shade for the youngest of the Sunhaven children, either in the paddling pool for them to dip their toes in to cool off or by running about in the sprinkler. In the cooler months the children will get to experience the changing colours of the garden and splash around in puddle suits, or even play in the snow, if we are lucky!
The house, garden and driveway are fitted with CCTV and motion sensors.
Wiggenhall St Germans is a small but very pretty village with a shop, a church, a primary school, and a children's play park. The River Great Ouse runs through the village, providing beautiful views as far as the eye can see and endless country walks along the raised banks and public footpaths.
The children will be taken out and about daily, on dog walks and the afternoon school run. Occasionally we will go on bigger outings!
Out and About
As well as walks around the village we like to go on lots of little trips to local parks, singing sessions at the Library, Baby and Toddler groups and many more!
